This week, presidential candidate Ron DeSantis braved the mean streets of San Francisco to report on a humanitarian crisis unleashed by liberal governance. “We saw people defecating. We saw people doing heroin. Smoking crack cocaine,” he whined, positioned in front of some graffiti, in a campaign video. “All kind of riff-raff running around,” he added. DeSantis lamented the decline of a once great city, felled by wrongheaded progressive policy. “We need to stop this madness. We need to bring sanity to this country.”
For what it’s worth, it was my attempt to be friendly and not snarky about it. It’s easy enough to make a typo mistake like that, and that’s true even when you work very hard at this, as she does. I recall the Washington Post misspelling Norman Mailer’s name in a headline once, a much larger error than this. And I assume everyone reading this would agree that the most serious errors are errors in assessing reality. So I’m sorry if it seemed like snark.
So sorry. Any writer would appreciate it. In spite of the emojis, meaning still doesn't convey. My attitude needed an adjustment so thanks for not joining me in that madness.
(In a stage whisper) “check the typo in your headline, madam.”
Snark? Everyone knows who she meant.

Not at all! I really appreciate it! Thank you.

What's wrong with the headline?
Ron, not Rob.
OMG.
Thanks for pointing out the pointy-headed cause and effect insanity of Ron DeSantis. The man is nuts!
The Atlantic has been worthless for a very long time. They debased themselves utterly when they added Karl Frum.
Tana, Are you trying to copy Trump? He calls DeSantis Rob. Lol.
Insincereity will set us free!
