Yesterday, Israel and Hamas agreed on a temporary ceasefire to allow for the return of some of the hostages in exchange for 150 Palestinian women and children in Israeli jail. The mainstream press is filled with tense profiles of the hostage’s families as they wait to learn if their loved one will be released. But in the US press, at least, there are fewer details, much less stories, about the prisoners sitting in Israeli military jail, pre-trial, in many cases for throwing rocks.
Did the incarcerated teenagers do any of that? You CAN care about both, it's not an either / or proposition. If you "cry me a river" respond to the jailed kids because of the suffering of the hostages, what are you saying exactly about human rights?
Cry me a river. Tell that to the Israelis who were raped, mutilated, murdered, set on fire, and tortured by 8th century barbarians.

It does come across as a bit strange to so heavily lean into the discussion of dehumanization without any mention of that.
